SPECIAL MEETING
March 24, 2021

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE NEZPERCE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEZPERCE, IDAHO, HELD ON March 24, 2021

PLACE: Training Room – Nezperce City Hall, 606 Maple Street.

THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR BATEMAN AT 7:03A.M.

PRESENT were Councilmembers Steve Bateman, James Zenner, Mike Jensen and Tyler Nelson; Maintenance Supervisor Craig Cardwell and Clerk-Treasurer Rhonda Schmidt. Cm. Michelle Lyons was absent. 

Pledge of Allegiance:  The pledge was led by Mayor Bateman.

MINUTES of the previous meeting of 3/8/2021 were approved as emailed upon a motion by Cm. Jensen, motion was seconded by Cm. Nelson, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT
No members of the public were in attendance.

BUSINESS TO BE CONDUCTED

Lots Sale: Mayor Bateman updated the council on the status of the lot sales. He has sold the remaining city lots so there are no more lots to sell. However, to move forward on the sales the city received bids on we needed to hold a special meeting to approve the minutes of the March meeting. Clerk Schmidt is working up purchase and sales agreements while Mayor Bateman ordered title insurance; the city will cover the costs for the insurance and any closing fees.

COUNCIL COMMENT:

Willow Street Development: Maintenance Cardwell informed the council that he will speak with Summit regarding boring in the sewer line and will check with Avista regarding getting power to the development.

Citywide Cleanup:  Maintenance Cardwell will phone Walco regarding a citywide cleanup effort, the council liked the idea of having roll-offs available for 3 weeks for the community to utilize. Discussion followed on where to place the roll-offs.

Excessive Barking Dogs:  Discussion followed on the fact that a resident allows their dogs to bark excessively and it is affecting the peace and tranquility of not only the neighborhood but the whole town. Clerk Schmidt will send a letter and a copy of the ordinance and give them a few days to come into compliance on the dogs.

ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 7:11AM.

Trainings: Maintenance will be attending an IRWA training 3/25/21

The next regularly scheduled city council meeting will be on Monday, April 12th at 7AM at City Hall.
