CITY OF NEZPERCE, IDAHO

REGULAR MEETING

October 12, 2021

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE NEZPERCE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEZPERCE, IDAHO, HELD ON October 12, 2021.

PLACE: Training Room, Nezperce City Hall, 606 Maple Street.

THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY MAYOR BATEMAN AT 5:30P.M.

PRESENT were Councilmembers Steve Bateman, Michelle Lyons, Mike Jensen and Tyler Nelson, Maintenance Supervisor Craig Cardwell, Clerk-Treasurer Rhonda Schmidt. Guests present were Kim Ingram and Sam Altman. Office Assistant Kimberly Johnson; Fire Chief Dave Kuther and Cm. James Zenner were absent.

Pledge of Allegiance: The pledge was led by Mayor Bateman.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No members of the public were in attendance to make comment.

MINUTES of the previous meeting of 9/13/21 were approved as emailed upon a motion by

Cm. Jensen was seconded by Cm. Nelson, motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT AND MONTHLY BILLS:

The Clerk’s Monthly Treasurer’s Report dated October 12, 2021 was examined and approved, showing the following:

Funds on Hand $606,577.56

All bills and payroll disbursements were examined and approved for payment upon a motion by Cm. Nelson and seconded by Cm. Jensen in the total of $70,296.55 check numbers 16097 through 16149, with checks 16117 and 16143 voided. Receipts since the last meeting were shown as $37,983.28. Checks and stub approvals were signed appropriately by all parties as well as the Payment Approval Report for October.

BUSINESS TO BE CONDUCTED

1. Reader Board – Sam Altman: Sam met with the council on behalf of the Service League. She was happy to inform that the reader board is up and running after some technical support. She asked what the city would like to see on the board since the school has their own for school information. Following some thought the council made suggestions of library, church, senior center, city election information ideas. Sam then asked the council if they had any ideas on projects for fundraising. The group discussed ideas of a splash pad in the city park, axillary gym and bathrooms at the tennis courts.
