NEZPERCE RECYCLE CENTER

Recycling in Nezperce has had great support since it was instigated. The city of Nezperce had to empty the blue bins located by City Hall/Shop once every three months or month and a half.
On average it takes a whole day to load the bins, haul them to Lewiston, empty them and haul them back and unload.
A full load of recyclables grosses around $120 so of course the fuller the load the more money.
The City of Nezperce is asking help from the public by doing a few things prior to dropping off your items. With your assistance the process will run smoother and quicker for all.

NO MORE PLASTIC AT NEZPERCE RECYLE BINS
*Plastics will no longer be accepted at the Nezperce Recycle bins located in the park across from the city shop. There is no place currently accepting plastic so the city will no longer have a blue bin set up for it.
*NO PLASTIC BAGS. These plastic bags should be emptied into the bins and then the bags disposed of – there are green garbage tots at the city shop for plastic bag disposal. The maintenance department has been removing these plastic bags.
*When the bins are full – PLEASE WAIT TO DROP OFF YOUR RECYCLABLES. We are aware the bins are full and making arrangements to empty them. We ask for your patience as sometimes it takes a few days to schedule a delivery. Weather and road conditions play a part in scheduling.
Thank you for supporting the recycling program. If the time is taken to remove lids, smash bottles and cans, dispose of the plastic bags and not throw in non-recyclable items, the program will run better for all.
Thanks Nezperce for making the recycling center a success. Please continue bringing all your newspapers and cans to the recycling center bins beside the City Shop. Check out the following for the complete list of what specific items will be accepted and all the do’s and don’ts.
Please contact City Hall at 937-1021 if you have any ??’s.
